Dance Program Tuition
Monthly tuition is $50 for a 45 min. class, $60 for a 60
min. class, $68 for a 75 min. class and $75 for a 90 min. class. We offer a family or
multiple class discount of 10% on
additional classes of an equal or lower tuition rate within the same
family. We also offer a substantial discount in the form of a flat monthly
tuition rate of $220 for any one student enrolled in four or more
classes, up to a maximum of 8 classes at this rate. Any classes over 8 would be at
the full tuition rate (sorry, but the 10% family discount would NOT apply). For any questions about
our discounts, please call us at 225-1611.
Monthly tuition payments are due the 1st
of each month; payments received after the 15th of the month will incur late
fees. Payments can be made by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or
American Express.
Save yourself a lot of time and hassle by using our
Auto-Pay Service!! Credit card payments may
also be faxed in using this
form. A $20 fee will be charged on all returned checks
and also on auto-pay (credit card) payments that are declined, so please make
sure to keep your credit card information up to date with us. Accounts must be current in order to receive costumes and to participate in the Spring Recital.
Enrollment & Tech Fees |
There is an annual, non-refundable enrollment fee
of $35
per student or $50 per family. For students who enroll by October 1, this fee includes an official SWDC
tank top per student which is distributed around the first of November. This fee also helps to cover
administration and processing costs for setting up your
account.
Also, in order to continue our practice of not
charging for tickets to our winter show & spring recitals, we will have
tech fees to help us cover the costs associated with dress rehearsal and
paying for theatre space for our performances. The tech fee for
the Winter Show will be $10 per family, which will be due Oct. 15.
The tech fees for the spring recital will be $35 / student or $50 /
family and will be due Jan. 1.
Missed Classes |
There are no refunds or credits for
classes missed or for classes which fall on a holiday. As appropriate and
necessary, we do schedule make-up classes when classes are cancelled due to
inclement weather, etc. We do apologize but we are unable to allow a student to
attend a different class as a make-up, since classes are both age and
choreography specific. However, in some instances, we may be able to schedule a
private make up session if desired. Please refer to our private lesson
requirements on our web site.
We ask, if at all possible, that you notify the Studio
West Dance Center office at
225-1611 if
your child will not be attending a scheduled class.
Withdrawal |
The program in which you are enrolling your child is an
on-going program and is not a "session." If you plan to withdraw your
child from the program, we ask that you notify us at least two weeks prior to
the withdrawal date. Monthly tuition is not refunded so if you are
planning a withdrawal mid-month, please discuss your specific situation with us
directly as soon as possible.
Class Attire |
SWDC recommends purchasing
quality dancewear at Prima Bodywear or other local or online retailer of
your choice. We will be strict on our dress code as a uniform appearance
truly helps the entire class focus on their form and technique.
- Ballet/Tap/Jazz
Combo, ages 3-9:
Pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes, a solid black leotard, and pink
tights are required. A small skirt is acceptable. Pull or pin hair
back and no jewelry.
- Ballet, ages 10+:
Pink leather split sole ballet shoes are required. A solid color leotard
and tights/leggings OR a fitted top and dance
pant are also required. Hair should be pulled or pinned back and no
jewelry.
- Breakdance and
Hip Hop, all ages:
Black high top tennis shoes are required. Please
wear a comfortable pant and top and no jewelry.
- Jazz: A solid color leotard or fitted
top, a black jazz pant and black jazz shoes are required.
- Music Theatre: Basic dance attire, character
shoes required.
- Broadway Tap: Basic dance attire, tap shoes
with a 1 to 1 1/2 inch heel are required.
- Other
classes: Please refer to your dance instructor for the appropriate attire.
- Please note that
chewing gum and cell phones are NOT permitted in class.
Costume Fees |
We try to keep our costume fees as reasonable as possible.
There
will be a $85 costume fee per class for all Music Theatre, intermediate, intermediate/advanced,
or advanced classes. ALL Ballet.Tap.Jazz combo classes will also have a
$85 costume fee as they will perform two dances (one ballet and one tap).
However, the costume fee for other beginning or beginning/intermediate classes
studying a single form of a dance (such as Hip Hop, Breakdance, Jazz, etc.) will be $65 per class
as they will perform only one dance in the recital. The costume fee for
adult classes is also $65.
These costume fees will be due by October 15th.
The lead time for costume orders is very long and we need to collect
fees promptly so that we can order early. MOST of the time, these
costume fees are sufficient and there would not be any additional
balance. However, sometimes costumes will cost a little more than
we anticipate. Should costume(s) cost more
than the initial fee, the remaining balance would be due in
April. Dancers will not receive their recital costumes until balances are paid
in full.
Schedule & Cancellations |
SWDC generally follows the Poudre School District
school
calendar. Dance Program classes are held from late August through
most of May. Classes are generally not held on school breaks/holidays, but
ARE usually held on teacher work days, etc. PLEASE check the
SWDC calendar for details as they are announced.
Any cancellations due to weather will be published on our web site, sent out via
email, and/or recorded on the studio's outgoing voicemail message so please
check these sources whenever you have a question about the status of SWDC
classes. And, as always, use your best judgment as to whether or not it is
safe for YOU to travel.
Performances |
All classes will participate in a Winter Performance
and in a more formal Spring Recital. Other performance opportunities will be available to
Ensemble/Competition teams and the Dance & Poms Team.
